The Unfinished Church, St. George

#3 of 7 in Historic Sites in St. George
Religious Site · Landmark
Explore The Unfinished Church a historic landmark of the town, only 15 minutes from the center of St. George. Many stories exist as to why the cathedral was never completed. The construction began in 1874, and was supposed to feature a Gothic fa├žade. With no roof constructed, lush green grass grows where the church aisles should be and the support pillars have crumbled and are covered in mould. Despite the church's incomplete structure, it has been frequently used for wedding ceremonies in the past. • It is impressive. I thought it was a ruin and had a private property sign so I did not explore. I will next time I go to Tobacco bay.  more »
  • 10 minute walk uphill from central St George's, on the way to Ft St Catherine, Ft Victoria, battery Albert, Tobacco, Achilles, and Gates bays.  more »
  • This place looks so cool! If you are in Bermuda then this is a must see. Not only is it like a 7 min walk to good food places in town, but it looks so magical! We went late in the evening and we managed to take some great pictures ! We were basically the only people there.
  • Its a good spot for pictures but not much to look at. To be fair I don't know what I expected its not finished.
