FIve eighteen ton canons protect the fort, which overlooks Achilles Bay and St Catherine boasting dramatic views. It's a shame for the view and the homogeneity of the landscape. On the other hand, the beach is still as beautiful as the construction noises don't bother you. I do not think I will be back in the future. I much prefer more pristine places.
In the heritage city of St. George, the fort is historic in nature and well kept for it's age. Views of the sea at @180 degrees and the through which most of the ships enter Bermuda can be seen. There is an entry fee to the fort. It is around a 5-7 min walk from the st. George bus terminal. Have time in hand when seeing the fort if you like history, there are a few things to read.
Cool place to walk around, nice beaches on both sides. Not very expensive. About a 15 minute walk from the bus stop in town.
