Opened in 1997, the museum presents the myths and facts of the deep sea and Bermuda’s historic shipwrecks through a combination of interactive displays and intriguing artefacts. Discover lost underwater riches in the “Treasure Room,” a vast collection of jewels, gold, and artifacts retrieved from the depths by Bermuda’s legendary scuba diver, Teddy Tucker. The star exhibit here is the mesmerising shell collection, an enchanting array of over 1,200 shells owned and collected by Jack Lightbourn. • The museum is interesting. Lots of information. Many electronic 'gadgets' do not work. Shell room is beautiful. It's worth an hour or two.  more »

  • Great place for Kids to Understand Underwater life :) Staff is amazing! I believe BUEI offers one of the best event rental spaces with class. We have been coming here for years for events and must say we are delighted every time. Staff is never hesitant to stay an extra hour or 2 in fact so that you can set up and tear down conveniently..
  • Great facility. Lots to see and lots of information provided in different methods. Both my child and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Great location, an easy stroll from the ferry terminal. The selfie station was super fun, as was the shark cage.
