See where the King and Queen of Belgium receive visitors at Royal Palace of Brussels. While the royal family's residence is just outside of the city, this palace serves as an official place for business and the reception of foreign dignitaries. Located directly in the center of the city in Brussels Park, the palace houses some of the best-loved pieces of furniture and art from generations of the royal family, such as stately portraiture, porcelain, and modern art. You can view some of the reception rooms when they are not in use. If the king is not there, the flag is raised; if he is, the honor guard is stationed outside. Combine your tour with a visit to the BELvue museum, a good place to start your visit and learn more about Belgium's royal family. A restaurant and summer cafe are located next door. Great visit, palace is beautiful, a must see in Brussels and Free We had our flights hand luggage with us when we visited. Before you enter the Palace there is a security check but they have a cloakroom where you can leave the bags before you visit. The Staff was very helpful

I enjoyed the atmosphere around the royal palace area. It's about a 20 min climb from the grand place. Tip, up top look for the yellow waffle truck to the right side of the palace. Only 2 euro for a sweet plain waffle to fuel up after the hike. Plus you will get a great view of Brussels.
