This church houses the Bruges Madonna by Michaelangelo. What an incredible sight! We visited for a couple of hours as there is a lot of history and relaquiry here. Ancient crypts, sarcophagi, etc..... more »
The steeple on this church is hard to miss at almost 380 feet. The church was built in spurts as donations came in to support the construction. The construction started in 1270 and finished sometime..... more »
The building is impressive. Massive carvings. I knew nothing about the history so for me having a tour guide was useful. There city of Bruges has great shops. I went to Mary's for chocolate and absolutely worth it. Wish I'd gotten more.
This is one of the most beautiful churches in Bruges! Aside from having a beautiful interior, you can also take pictures from a bridge behind the church which gives a great view! It's free to go inside, but part of it is kept as a museum which has an entrance fee. It's also on the way to a lot of attractions from the train station, so you can't miss it.
