In the midst of the capital, visit the landscaped Stadtpark, home to statues of famous Viennese artists, as well as an opulent venue that hosts balls, concerts, and more. Spread across 11 hectares (28 acres), the park is filled with flowers and plants that blossom throughout the year. Natural protection areas feature ginkgo, honey locust, pyramid poplar, and caucasian wing nut. See monuments to Franz Schubert, Johann Strauss, and Robert Stolz, and visit the spa pavilion that served mineral water with healing properties in the 19th century. A nice park in the middle of the city to relax and enjoy some nature. The ducks and ducklings in the Spring and Summer are adorable. Be aware however that in the night, the park is full of rats, drug users and homeless people. On a long summers evening, the park can become pretty full and filled with trash, however this is cleaned up pretty quick.
I absolutely love this park. It's perhaps not the most beautiful but it has a gorgeous, relaxing vibe to us. On a dry, bright day just stroll around soaking in the atmosphere. Also be sure to visit the Strauss Monument which is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended for a relaxing break from your sightseeing.
