Discover the birthplace of an important painter at Egon Schiele Birth House, refurbished and renovated to resemble the home as it looked at the end of the 19th century. Schiele's father was a station master, so it's doesn't come as a surprise that the family spent years living in this humble station apartment. The time spent there shaped the artists works in a significant way, helping him become one of the earliest exponents of Expressionism. Filled with period furniture and other objects, the house provides insight into the Shiele family life, as well as into the everyday existence of a typical middle-class home from around 1900. With our international travel planner, Tulln attractions like Egon Schiele Birth House can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Although Egon Schiele did not live in Tulln long, well, he did not even live very long, it is worth the stop here. Museum does not have a lot of content but still worth looking in.

  • A great little attraction and one well worth a visit. Could easily be missed as its in the old railway station in Tulln. A short walk from the main town. Gives an insight into the childhood of Egon.....  more

  • Quite interesting but I was expecting more drawing or painting from the artist. However his life is well explained
  • Terrible. Most of the english audio guide is in german actually, only 5 paintings by Schiele in the whole collection. Biographical information presented in empty rooms...literally. Go to the Leopold to actually see his work/learn anything about him.
