The part about Robert Musil is the richest, with a very pedagogical presentation of his biographical journey and the stages of his work. Some very moving pieces, like his typewriter or his suitcases and travel trunks. Very courteous and even very friendly welcome from the gentleman at the reception who took the time to explain to us how the museum worked, to tell us about the temporary exhibition dedicated to Gert Jonke. A small bookstore with some very well chosen books. It was a great experience to visit this museum and the welcome was a big part of it.

Housed in the birthplace of the poet Robert Musil, which was built in 1867 according to plans by Christian Placeriano by Franz Samek and originally consisted of 15 rooms, as Nanao Hayasaka vividly did in his book "Robert Musil and the genius loci" (Fink-Vlg. 2011) It is now a meeting place of literature and writers. In two large museum rooms to the left and right of the main entrance (Bahnhofstraße 50) we are presented with the belongings of Robert and Martha Musil, the restored robes, the travel suitcases, documents, manuscripts, first editions and especially Musil's typewriter (Underwood), on which he wrote a (rather small) part of his texts; The main part of his work is handwritten (kept in Vienna, ÖNB, Josefplatz.). The museum, exterior of Aerosol embellished with paintings by Musil, Bachmann and Christine Lavant, but offers much more than just a tour of the music world, it exhibits contemporary works of art (Gert Jonke poems), has a literary lounge with a colorful, Comfortable furniture, where you can take a cup of coffee or tea to the magazines and other media to mind, Ev. Also a literary film (Jürgen Kaizik on Musil's 100th birthday in 1980 etc.). The Musil Museum itself is complemented by the research centre of the "Alp-Adria University Klagenfur/univerza v Celovcu" on the first floor (with lecture hall, where weekly readings as well as summer seminars and symposia take place). The main focus of the events is June to September, when a literary course and the award of the Translatik Prize are also available around the Bachmann betting read. On the second, mysterious floor of the music birthplace is the workshop of Walter Fanta, who is working on the new, 12-volume music edition at Jung & Jung, Volume 1-6: The Man Without Properties, 7-12: Dramas, prose, essays, reviews. To speak with Claudio Magris, the Triestin music connoisseur: "I am yesterday's book, but also and above all I am ' The Odyssey ' and ' The Man Without Properties '." (Cl. newspaper 7.4.19). The magnificent, luminous Musil-Haus with the musical portrait of Viktor Rogy over the southeastern Hauseck, which has become glass, is definitely worth a trip, a journey to "the edge of the possible."
Walk a round and check aut some nice literature
An important cultural institution with interesting events.
