Woolloomooloo Wharf, Sydney

3.8
Some of the finest restaurants in the city are located at Woolloomooloo Wharf, locally called the Finger Wharf. This historic structure is the longest timber wharf in the world, completed in 1915 to service the wool export business. During World War II the wharf served as a staging point for Australian troop deployment, and later it became a disembarking point for newly arrived immigrants. Today, the entire area is a redeveloped complex of trendy hotels, restaurants, and residential buildings. Visit the area for a gourmet meal at one of its popular alfresco restaurants, many of which feature views of the central business district's skyscrapers.
