Sydney Observatory, Sydney

Gaze at two spectacular sights from the Sydney Observatory: outer space and Sydney Harbour. The stately stone building with copper domes houses two telescopes, providing views of constellations, the Moon, planets, and nebulae on clear nights. Take an interactive astronomy lesson in the 3-D space theater and enter the planetarium for interstellar entertainment. Of course, take earthly pleasure in the vista you'll have over the harbor too. • What a great place to attend. The night tour in a clear summer night is all what someone can ask for. I took my wife for her birthday there, and the tour was a great experience, my Mrs was super duper happy... The staff who guided the Wednesday 16-Jan-2019 08:30pm tour was so professional and informative. Thank you for such great experience. it is highly recommended.
  • Built in 1858 Sydney Observatory is a fascinating heritage site and public observatory. The quintessential visit is a night tour of 90 minute duration which includes telescope viewing and a Space Theatre experience with a planetarium experience in cloudy weather. Night tours ($18/22 adult) must be booked and prepaid. Day tours are designed for tourists and include a Planetarium 'virtual sky' experience, solar viewing (weather permitting) and a Space Theatre in 30-40 minute tours. Entry to the Observatory is free during the day, tours are a small extra charge ($10 adult or you can use the iventure Sydney card) but well worth it to experience astronomy and solar viewing with an astronomer.
