Surrounded by World Heritage tropical rainforest on one side and the Great Barrier Reef on the other, the beach has Australia’s highest density of cassowaries roaming the rainforest. These large birds are easy to spot, because Cyclone Yas stripped bare much of the rainforest. Close to the beach is Clump Point, a popular fishing spot.
