  • This is worth the trip up the windy dirt road especially in summer when the water is a vivid blue from the high copper content in the water. The Iron Blow was a mine originally started for gold but...  more »
  • It was overcast when we went but still worth the visit. An amazing hole in the ground which yo see from the viewing platform. Informative notices around all help with the experience  more »
  • A beautiful and dramatic view, but the weather should be clear to get the full impression. We visited this place on a cloudy and rainy day, which was a pity. Anyway, the Iron Blow is worth the visit, and easy to access, just some hundred meters aside from Lyell Highway.
  • It is on the road near Queenstown, the road is pretty narrow and steep for a motorhome but still manageable. Worth stopping by for a few minutes to have a look of the abandoned ore.
