The Carousel
TERMS & CONDITIONS: The CarouselMake The Carousel a centerpiece of your Geelong vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Geelong route planner .
Welcome to The Carousel Facebook page.
The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.
Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored.
There is also a replica 1898 Gavioli Band organ in the pavilion.
Entry to The Carousel Pavilion is free. Those wishing to ride the Carousel may purchase a ticket.
Wheelchair access to the Carousel is available via a mobility lift.
We host children's birthday parties, weddings, wedding photography and corporate functions.

An old fashioned carousel dating back to 1892, the last of its kind, right on the water. Beautifully restored and preserved in a lovely state of the art building with gorgeous views of the bay. Family... more »

The last if it's kind. Carousel right at the waterfront. The shimmering sea is the real appeal. Have a stroll or simply sit along the ledge to enjoy the scenery. There is a huge lawn area that children and run around and a playground nearby too. The popular Cunningham restaurant is right at the end of the pier if you want some unique dinning experience. There are also rows of restaurant fronting the waterfront too. Westfield shopping is also just 10 mins walk too.

The staff were so rude to my mother. Very disappointed with sraff's quality. I will never come back and not recommend my friends to come unless they change the staff
