Learn about Chinese culture at Golden Dragon Museum. Start by looking at traditional costumes of Bendigo's Chinese community from the late 19th century. Next, see the world's largest collection of imperial dragons, which are used in traditional dragon dances. The longest of these, Sun Loong, measures over 100 m (328 ft). You can also view the John St. Alban collection of opulent furniture and decorations from late Qing Dynasty palaces and temples. The museum houses a collection of wax figures, including one of Sun Yat-sen, from the town's long-closed Dai Gum San Wax Works. And don't leave without checking out the Horrie Bridges Collection of Chinese currency dating back to the Qin Dynasty. Bring your camera because you can take photos in the galleries. • We enjoyed our visit. There's nothing boring in the museum. It was entertaining and instructive at the same time. People who work there were very helpful and friendly.
  • This place is awesome and well worth the price of admission. There are some fascinating artefacts and an interesting insight into the history of Chinese people on the goldfields. There is also a beautuful garden and temple to visit. The volunteer staff are very friendly and as an added bonus, the toilets are very clean. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bendigo!
