Visit the ancient ruins of Erebuni Town-Fortress, the remains of a fortified city that dates back to 782 BCE. Founded by King Argishti I of the Urartu kingdom, the hilltop settlement most likely represents the origins of the current national capital. Take a guided tour of the fortress ruins to learn more about its history and influence on the region, or visit the adjacent museum to admire archaeological findings from the area, including pottery, weapons, jewelry, and ancient coins. Erebuni Town-Fortress is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Yerevan Edition.
Erebuni Town-Fortress Reviews
Маленький музейчик, посвященный древнему Урукскому городу Эребуни. Может быть он и не был бы достоин внимания, если б не руины над ним. В музее можно познакомиться с информацией о городе и посмотреть ... more »A small museum dedicated to the ancient Uruk city of Erebuni. Maybe he wouldn't be worthy of attention if it weren't for the ruins above him. In the museum you can get acquainted with information about the city and look at everyday objects, murals and reliefs (reconstructions) found here. Look at the layouts of the city, and then climb the hill and be in the city itself. The place is atmospheric and if you adjust yourself to it, you will not only see how people lived long before Christmas, but also get a lot of positive emotions.
Интересно для посещения: необычная кладка крепости, интерьер, неплохой, хоть и небольшой, музей. Не пожалели, что сходили more »Interesting to visit: unusual masonry of the fortress, interior, not bad, though small, museum. We didn't regret going.
