Went on the Soviet era Yerevan tour, guided by Edgar (?), and highly recommend it. Informative and a lot of fun. Edgar was able to give us real insights not just about the Soviet times and influences, but also Armenian culture , politics, history, family life... any question we asked he showed an amazing breadth of knowledge and a keen sense of humour. Still smiling at those much loved jokes my friend! Many thanks.
If you are going to Armenia, you will not be disappointed if you stay at Envoy Hostel and take their tours. I was very happy with the facility and the very helpful staff. Too bad the weather was not as cooperative. But at least we got to see Mt. Ararat on the last day while the sun set. The Genocide Memorial was worth the whole trip. Thank you for setting up the private car to Tatev monastery. Dorothy Baily
