At 635 m (2,083 ft), Monument Aux Morts commemorates the victims of World War I with a 21 m (68 ft) tall triumphal arch topped by a victory statue. The memorial bears the engraved names of some 800 soldiers and citizens--Muslims, Christians, and Jews--who hailed from Constantine. The monument, modeled after Trajan's arch in Timgad, stands on a cliff overlooking the valley and the city.   In our visits to the beautiful city of Constantine, we crossed the bridge and went to visit the monument to the dead. Very pretty building that gives us the impression of being in front of a Roman Arc of Triumph, as seen in the archaeological site of Timgad. You have to climb 15 minutes, a steep enough slope to finally admire this monument. It's fun to see that it is the meeting place of young girls and boys and sometimes small couples holding hands nicely. Visit to do
